Leeds United supporters are set to experience an upgraded South Stand when Tottenham Hotspur visit Elland Road on Sunday, with the new safe-standing sections now nearing completion.

A latest video also provides an update on the wider stadium redevelopment, although major structural work on the West Stand remains some distance away.

Elland Road South Stand safe seating ready for debut in Spurs clash

Drone footage filmed by Shaun Drabble on November 4th shows that the top tier of the South Stand has been completed, with new seats and safe-standing barriers installed ahead of Sunday's Premier League fixture against Spurs.

Work on the bottom tier is also nearing completion, with construction crews concentrating on the remaining sections towards the outside of the stand.

The seating upgrades are being carried out in phases to ensure Elland Road remains operational throughout the season, with the latest progress suggesting the new facilities will be ready for supporters this weekend.

Elsewhere, activity around the ground remains relatively quiet, with little evidence of major new construction deliveries since the previous update.

The West Stand expansion remains the main focus of the wider redevelopment, but the next significant phase, involving steelwork, is not expected to begin until December, with construction activity likely to gather pace in January.

Groundworkers are continuing with drainage improvements and preparations for tarmac, while temporary fencing remains around parts of the site.

FGG says: Leeds supporters can look forward to upgraded South Stand facilities

The completion of the upper-tier safe-standing section is a welcome development ahead of the visit of Tottenham, giving supporters an early glimpse of the improvements being made at Elland Road.

Although the wider West Stand project is yet to reach its next major construction phase, the ongoing seating and infrastructure upgrades show that work is continuing around the stadium.

For now, Sunday's match should provide the first opportunity for Leeds fans to experience the completed safe-standing area in the South Stand.
