Have you ever wanted to visit Old Trafford football stadium for a tour? Well, there has arguably never been a better time to book your place on one, as a new government scheme means that prices are going to be discounted for a few months.
As part of a policy titled ‘Great British Summer Savings', the government has announced a VAT reduction for cultural attractions between 25 June and 1 September 2026. The idea is to give families more opportunities to enjoy a day out during the summer holidays.
As the Old Trafford stadium tour falls under the category of a cultural attraction, ticket prices are set to be reduced to £15.75 for adults and £4.50 for children during the aforementioned period.
Old Trafford Stadium Tour: A cheaper day out for the family
At the discounted prices, an Old Trafford Stadium Tour will be more accessible for thousands of families in Manchester and beyond.
The tour is also one that can be enjoyed by those who are not particularly interested in football. Yes, the main crux of the tour is about getting a look a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most fascinating parts of the stadium, including the dressing rooms, the tunnel and the dugouts. However, there is more to it than that.
I want every family to have fun this summer. That's why I’m cutting VAT on children’s activities and meals with Great British Summer Savings.

Our economic plan is the right one, to support families and businesses, and build a stronger and more secure Britain.
Anybody with an interest in history would also enjoy the tour, as it includes tales of how the club was formed, information about when the stadium was bombed during World War Two and of course, the full story of the Munich Air Disaster.
There is also an opportunity to look at the club museum, where all of Manchester United's trophies are kept, alongside information on how and when they won each one.
FGG says: Well worth a visit
Clearly, an Old Trafford Stadium Tour is designed for Manchester United fans, but it's not exclusively for them. The club are welcoming of all supporters, provided they are respectful, and given the extensive history of the club, you may learn something new.
