Manchester City Pre-Season Tour Fixtures: A whirlwind tour of Asia

After the greatest season in the club's history, Manchester City will need to refocus and re-energise ahead of a season where they will be the number one team to beat across Europe.

After securing the treble last term, Pep Guardiola is already looking for new recruits to ensure complacency doesn't become an issue amongst his squad. With the futures of Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker up in the air, City are looking to bring in midfielders with Mateo Kovacic all-but secured from Chelsea and a bid for Declan Rice imminent.

Due to the fact their season didn't finish until the middle of June, Guardiola has given his players some extra time off this summer meaning they will only play four pre-season matches before the Premier League begins at the start of August. Here is everything you need to know about Manchester City's pre-season schedule.

Who are Manchester City playing in pre-season?

While their neighbours Manchester United travel to the US for a tour this summer, City are travelling to Asia with fixtures planned in South Korea and Japan. Their first match of pre-season is set to take place towards the end of July against Yokohama F Marinos while their final game before the Premier League starts will be against Arsenal in the Community Shield.

Manchester City's full list of pre-season fixtures is as follows:

Kick-off times all UK

26/07/23 – Manchester City vs Bayern Munich– 23:30, Japan National Stadium

How to watch Manchester City's pre-season matches

For the three matches taking place in Japan and South Korea, fans will have to subscribe to City Plus. This is Manchester City's own streaming service where fans are able to gain access to exclusive videos from behind the scenes at the club and also live streaming of all of their pre-season matches on the Asia Tour.

The cost of City Plus is just £2.99 per month and the subscription works on a rolling monthly basis meaning there is no contract involved. This means that if you want to just subscribe to the channel for the month of July for the three pre-season games in Asia then you will be able to do so before cancelling it in August.

Fans are able to stream videos on City Plus via the Manchester City app which is available on all smartphones, tablets and smart TVs.

The final pre-season match of the season against Arsenal in the FA Community Shield will be broadcast live on ITV in the United Kingdom. This also means that fans will be able to stream the match via ITVX – the channel's exclusive streaming service.

How to get tickets for Manchester City's pre-season matches

As things stand, all tickets for Manchester City's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea are unavailable. Fans are able to register interest via the official Manchester City website should more tickets become available although demand is expected to be high given that this is the first time the club have played in Asia.

City fans should also keep an eye on the ticket section on their official website for ticket information regarding the Community Shield in August.
