New floodlights spotted as latest Villa Park redevelopment update reveals rapid progress

Villa Park's redevelopment is continuing to gather pace, with the latest aerial footage showing several noticeable changes around the stadium.

New floodlights have now been spotted alongside ongoing foundation and stand work as Aston Villa's ambitious expansion moves forward.

Aerial footage filmed on August 12th shows Villa Park has become an increasingly busy construction site, with work progressing across several areas of the redevelopment.

The corner area has been cleared, revealing extensive piling work as contractors continue preparing the foundations for the next stages of construction. Piling caps and shuttering for concrete are also visible across the site.

One of the most noticeable developments is the arrival of new floodlights, with at least two now installed around the stadium.

Work is also continuing on the existing structure, which has been gutted in areas as part of the redevelopment.

Cladding is being added to the rear of the stand, while the club has confirmed that parts of the ground will be unavailable during the early stages of the new season as construction continues.

Elsewhere, general maintenance work is taking place around Villa Park, including seat replacements and painting on the stairways.

The latest progress comes as Villa continue their wider plans to transform the stadium and increase its capacity, with the redevelopment designed to create a significantly improved matchday experience while allowing the club to continue playing at Villa Park throughout the construction process.
