England fans unveil new Phil Foden chant

The Three Lions have some incredible songs, from ‘Southgate You're The One‘ to ‘It's Coming Home‘ – there is no shortage of anthems for the fans to sing. Could we just have seen yet another one to add to the pile?

In the hours leading up to their clash against Serbia, a video posted on social media showed a group of England supporters singing what appears to be a new Phil Foden chant.

It isn't the most complex tune ever made, but it certainly is catchy. The main lyrics are as follows: “Phil Foden's on fire, he'll play the Germans off the park.”

With the 24-year-old expected to start against Serbia, we may not have to wait all that long to hear this chant echoing around the terraces at Euro 2024.

England fans hoping for perfect Euro 2024 start

In the months leading up to Euro 2024, England were widely touted as one of the favourites for the tournament, along with France. However, with injuries and fitness issues depleting defensive options, that no longer is the case for many people.

With that in mind, many England fans are now desperate to see their side record a victory in their first game, securing the perfect start to Euro 2024 in the process.

In the past, Gareth Southgate has been criticised for being too pragmatic against so-called weaker sides in major tournaments, and supporters will want to see goals in this game. Could Foden be the man to answer their prayers?
