New drone footage from Villa Park has offered a closer look at the latest progress on Aston Villa's North Stand redevelopment, with piling and reinforcement work now clearly visible across the construction site.
The footage, captured on Monday, September 14 by the CC Overview YouTube channel, shows several areas of the stand undergoing significant structural work, including new piles being installed and large sections of exposed ground prepared for the next phase of construction.
The North Stand is being rebuilt during the 2026-27 season, with Aston Villa targeting completion in time for the following campaign and Euro 2028.
Piling work takes centre stage at Villa Park
One of the clearest developments in the latest footage is the amount of piling taking place around the North Stand.
The drone operator repeatedly captures piling machinery working across the site, with new piles being lowered into position and concrete being pumped into sections of the foundations.
At one point, the footage gives a clearer indication of the depth of the excavation, with a substantial area dug out beneath the stand. The operator also highlights the amount of rebar visible across the site, alongside sections of shuttering or formwork and newly installed flooring.
The footage shows construction workers operating in relatively confined areas as the foundations continue to take shape, while another section appears to be undergoing further excavation and preparation.
The drone operator also points out what appears to be the beginning of a new tunnel, with large vertical structures providing an indication of the scale of the work taking place.
North Stand redevelopment gathers pace
The latest footage provides another indication of the scale of the project after the North Stand was closed for the entire 2026-27 season.
Aston Villa accelerated the original two-season construction programme so the redevelopment could be completed in a single campaign, with the stadium operating at around 37,000 capacity during the works.
The £100m project is designed to increase Villa Park's capacity to more than 50,000, with the North Stand expected to grow from around 6,000 seats to approximately 12,000.
The redevelopment will also provide around 500 square metres of new first-team changing, medical and physiotherapy facilities.
Recent footage has already shown how extensively the existing stand has been stripped back, but the latest drone visit highlights a different stage of the project, with foundations and structural preparation increasingly dominating the site.

The latest footage is significant because it shows the project moving well beyond demolition and into the construction of the foundations for the new North Stand.
The amount of piling and reinforcement visible across the site gives a much clearer impression of the scale of the redevelopment than the stripped-back stand seen earlier in the summer.
There is still a considerable amount of work to complete, but the latest aerial views provide Villa fans with another useful snapshot of how the new stand is beginning to take shape beneath the existing structure.
