Aston Villa supporters have been given another glimpse of the progress being made on the redevelopment of Villa Park, with the new players' tunnel beginning to take shape as work on the North Stand continues.
Construction is gathering pace in the corner between the North Stand and Trinity Road Stand, where the foundations of the new tunnel are now visible from all four sides of the stadium.
The project will significantly transform the matchday experience at Villar Park, with the new tunnel changing the route players will take when entering and leaving the pitch. It will replace the current arrangement, which sees players enter the field through the Trinity Road Stand.
Work is also progressing on the foundations for the two wings that will connect the North Stand with its neighbouring stands, forming part of the planned wraparound structure.

Reduced capacity to remain at Villa Park throughout 2026/27
The club confirmed in April that the North Stand would be unavailable throughout the 2026/27 campaign, allowing construction to progress in the most effective way and keeping the project on track ahead of Euro 2028.
Once completed, the redevelopment will take the capacity at Villa Park beyond the 50,000-seat mark, representing a major step forward for the club's ambitions on and off the pitch.
However, supporters hoping for further expansion beyond that figure may have to be patient.
Villa president of business operations Francesco Calvo addressed the possibility of increasing capacity further when speaking to BirminghamLive in July. He said:
“This is the first major work in 25 years. These kinds of improvements do not happen every day. Increasing by 8,000, it is not automatically obvious we will sell out.”
FGG says: One step at a time
For Villa supporters, the immediate priority is seeing the North Stand completed and a transformed Villa Park ready to welcome fans back ahead of the 2027-28 season. Any work beyond that will have to make sense from a financial point of view, but while Unai Emery is the club's manager, there is a feeling that the sky is the limit at Villa Park.
