Empoli have taken another important step towards redeveloping Stadio Carlo Castellani after submitting a technical and economic feasibility proposal to local authorities.
The Serie B outfit hopes the project can modernise its historic home and potentially strengthen its position in Italy's preparations for Euro 2032.
Empoli submit new proposal for Stadio Carlo Castellani redevelopment
Last week, Empoli confirmed that it had submitted its proposal for the redevelopment and future management of the Carlo Castellani, incorporating feedback from earlier stages of the process.
No competing proposals were submitted before the deadline in early October, allowing the municipality to continue assessing the club's plans. The project has already received public-interest status following an earlier preliminary conference.
The documentation will now be examined by the relevant municipal departments before a decision-making Conference of Services brings together the authorities involved to assess whether the proposal meets the required conditions.
Empoli chief executive and vice-president Rebecca Corsi described the submission as an important milestone, highlighting the potential for a modern, functional stadium to support the club and the wider region.

The club worked with financial adviser Iniziativa Cube on the proposal, with legal support provided by Florence-based firm Morbidelli Bruni Righi Traina.
Euro 2032 is among the ambitions associated with the redevelopment.
Financial adviser representative Marco Messina described the project as strategically important for Empoli, its supporters and the city, while highlighting the possibility of the renovated venue playing a role in the tournament.
However, detailed stadium specifications, the total investment cost and a construction start date have not yet been confirmed.
Further administrative approval is required before the municipality can launch a concession tender, another key stage before work can begin.
FGG says: Empoli's Euro 2032 dream gives redevelopment added significance
Empoli's latest submission is an encouraging step towards modernising the Carlo Castellani, with the absence of rival proposals allowing the process to move forward.
The Euro 2032 ambition adds another dimension, although the club still faces important approval and tender stages before redevelopment can become a reality.
For now, the focus is on securing the necessary permissions. Empoli's progress through those remaining steps will determine how realistic its hopes of delivering a stadium fit for the tournament can become.
