There will be no away supporters at any Old Firm clash this season after the SPFL moved to tighten matchday arrangements between Celtic and Rangers.
The decision follows the disorder that marred their Scottish Cup meeting at Ibrox in March.
Old Firm derbies will not have away fans this season
The SPFL has confirmed that Celtic and Rangers will have no away supporters at any SPFL-organised matches between the clubs for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.
The decision comes after the Scottish FA's Independent Review into the events surrounding the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on March 8th, when both sets of supporters invaded the pitch following Celtic's penalty shootout victory.
The clubs were subsequently punished, with each ordered to play their next Scottish Cup home match behind closed doors and pay the visiting club £100,000 in compensation for lost revenue.
Rangers had been set to offer Celtic just 700 tickets for the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final at Ibrox on September 13th, but Celtic rejected the reduced allocation and asked the SPFL to intervene.
Following further discussions involving both clubs, the SPFL and Police Scotland, an agreement has now been reached to remove away allocations entirely.
That means Celtic supporters will not be present at Ibrox for the League Cup meeting, while Rangers fans will also be absent from Parkhead when the teams meet in the league one week later.
The SPFL says the temporary arrangement will give all parties time to consider the Independent Review's recommendations and properly plan future fixtures, while also providing greater certainty around ticketing and matchday safety.

It is a real shame that the authorities have reached the point where taking away supporters is seen as the safest solution for Old Firm matches.
These games are supposed to be among the biggest occasions in Scottish football, and the presence of both sets of fans is a huge part of that.
Ultimately, though, the scenes at Ibrox cannot simply be ignored.
If supporters cannot attend without pitch invasions and disorder, then stronger measures are understandable, but hopefully this is genuinely a temporary step rather than the new normal.
