How many Tottenham fans are going to Istanbul?

Celtic fans were given an allocation of 1,200 for their trip to Ferencvaros on 3 October. For the match against Galatasaray, there will be a bigger following with 2,488 supporters located in the away end.

RAMS Park has an overall capacity of just under 54,000 and is one of the most modern grounds in Turkey. It is the second-largest stadium in the country behind the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

Where will Tottenham fans sit at RAMS Park?

Tottenham fans will be located in the upper tier of the south-east corner of Galatasaray’s home stadium. Away fans enter the ground via gates 418, 419, 420 and 421 and Spurs fans will be urged to get to the away section at RAMS Park early to avoid lengthy queues at the turnstiles as security checks will be stringent. Spurs provided the following advice to away supporters arriving at the stadium on matchday:

“Entry to the stadium is expected to be slow, with all supporters having to pass through six narrow queuing lanes. The local Police and Galatasaray stewards will conduct a soft body search and ticket check as supporters approach the six visiting supporters’ turnstiles. A further ticket check will take place on entry to the turnstiles, with a full body search once inside the gates.

“Supporters should note that there are 110 steps to the visiting supporters’ section in the Upper Tier, with no lift service.”

Given that the stadium is a modern facility that opened in 2011, Spurs fans can expect a good view of the pitch in the away end.
