Toulouse away section: Guide for Liverpool fans

Liverpool fans travel to Toulouse knowing victory will see their side qualify for the UEFA Europa League knock-out stages. After a difficult campaign last year, Jurgen Klopp's side are flying in all competitions and have their sights set on yet another piece of continental silverware.

After a trip already to Linz, Austria, the Reds are on their second European trip of the season. What's the Toulouse away section like, where are the best bars and how easy is the ground to get to? Everything you need to know below…

What is Toulouse like for away fans?

A beautiful French city and the fourth-largest in the country, Toulouse is known for its pink terracotta buildings, its rugby and being the home of the European aerospace industry. It's also, of course, home to Toulouse FC.

Where to drink for Liverpool fans in Toulouse?

Stadium de Toulouse itself is poorly served by bars. Instead, you'll find plenty of great bars in the historic centre. Start your search around the Place du Capitole. We recommend Bar a La Une for a proper Toulouse experience, or The Melting Pot for a classic Irish bar.

Closer to the ground, La Bodega is a marquee offering food and drink behind the Honneur Sud stand. And there's a Snack-Buvette behind the main stand.

Your best bet, though, is by the St Michel metro stop (see directions below). There are good bars around here.

Where to watch football in Toulouse?

Around the St Michel metro stop are L'Évasion and Dubliners, two good bars showing football games.

What will the Stadium de Toulouse away section be like for Liverpool fans?

Originally constructed for the 1938 FIFA World Cup, the third edition of the global competition and won by Italy, Stadium de Toulouse has been renovated three times and hosted matches at both the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2016. More recently, it has hosted matches at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Stadium de Toulouse has a capacity of 35,472 and Liverpool have received an allocation of 1,200 for this fixture.

Away section view at Stadium de Toulouse

It's a modern enough ground since its renovations and the view is pretty good from all locations.

Away fans are allocated a section in the Virage Ouest. They are sometimes given additional places in the Honneur Nord.

The most vocal home fans will be in the Virage Est.

How many Liverpool fans are going to Toulouse?

Liverpool have an away allocation of 1,200 supporters at Toulouse.

All Liverpool fans in Toulouse will have to collect their tickets, and will be able to do so from Wednesday 8 November, the day before the game, up to kick-off. Fans attending the game will receive specific information prior to travel.

It's likely that some Liverpool fans will travel without tickets, particularly due to the proximity of this fixture, being only over the English Channel in France.

How Liverpool fans can get to Stadium de Toulouse

Although helpfully located in the centre of Toulouse on an island in the river Garonne, Stadium de Toulouse is three kilometres south of the city's historic centre and four kilometres from the primary train station.

The nearest metro stations for the Stadium de Toulouse are Empalot and St Michel. Both will drop you a 15-minute walk from the ground and can be reached on the yellow metro line, which also serves the historic centre and the area near the central station.

You can also take the bus number 12 or 38 to near the ground from the historic centre. These buses depart every 10-15 minutes.

On matchdays, free shuttle buses are provided, running between the train/metro station Arenes (on the red metro line).

There are also 1,000 parking spaces for bikes, for any fans wanting a cheap and less traditional route to the ground.

Stade de Toulouse tickets: How to watch a Toulouse game

Tickets for Toulouse games are available online and must be printed at home. They can also be bought at the stadium on the day of the match. These are often available, with the only sell-out games the very high-profile fixtures. This Toulouse vs Liverpool fixture will be a sell-out.

The price for Toulouse tickets ranges from €10 to €30.

For any groundhoppers looking to take in a game nearby while in the area, unfortunately Toulouse isn't particularly close to other major French cities. Montpellier is the closest.

How to get Toulouse vs Liverpool tickets

Away tickets for Toulouse vs Liverpool are priced at a bargain £17.35. Due to significant demand, strict limitations are in place for Liverpool fans hoping to attend this game, and ticket sales are already completed.
