Bayer Leverkusen away section: Guide for West Ham fans

West Ham fans will be looking forward to travelling to Germany for another European clash. The Hammers are looking to repeat last year’s Europa Conference League success and progress to the latter stages of the Europa League.

Bayer Leverkusen will prove to be a tough test for West Ham, as Xabi Alonso’s side are unbeaten in 40 matches in all competitions this season. This is a German record, and they currently sit 13 points ahead of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.

How many West Ham fans in Leverkusen?

An allocation of 1,790 unreserved standing tickets were available for West Ham fans. It was £9 per ticket for each of the three following age categories: Adults, Over-66s and Under-18s.

Where do the West Ham fans sit in the BayArena?

Away fans are located in the southwest corner of the BayArena. The away section offers unrestricted views of the match at a level that is closer to the pitch than a lot of German grounds. There are a variety of food and drink options inside and outside the stadium.

There are plenty of options to eat and drink near the BayArena. BAX biergarten and Brauhaus Janes are both good options, located on Bismarckstrasse. These bars are very close to the stadium, meaning fans congregate here to enjoy a cold pre-match beer.

In terms of eating, Winner’s Place, Haus am Park, and Pizzeria Da Franco are the best restaurant options near the stadium. Of course, there are also many fast food options near the stadium.

We advise fans to use public transport to get to the stadium, and you will be well-served in Germany.

Parking is limited at the BayArena, but there is a shuttle service. The shuttle bus service begins two hours before the game, and it will start travelling from Kurtekotten to the BayArena, ending at the street “Am Stadtpark”. From there, it is a short walk to the stadium.

Parking is available at Kurtekotten – at the “Chempark” S-Bahn station – from two hours before the start of the match. The car parks can be reached via Otto-Bayer Straße (Cologne).

You can avail of the same service for two hours after the game is finished.
