The World Cup final is set to take place this weekend, and although the majority of football fans in the country are still in mourning following England's semi-final defeat, there are still many people who will want to watch the match.

Argentina will face Spain in a clash between the reigning World and European champions, with England fans expected to cheer on Luis de la Fuente's side following the antics of the Argentinians in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

The one good thing about England being eliminated is that thousands of pub bookings have now been cancelled for the final, making it easier to pick somewhere to watch football's biggest game. If you are looking for a pub or bar in Manchester for the World Cup final, here are your best options.

Deansgate

Box Bar

Box Bar has been one of the most popular spots to watch the World Cup all summer, and it will be a lot more accessible for the World Cup final now that England are not in it. The bar is stretched over two floors, with plenty of seating available

Address: 125 Deansgate, Manchester M3 2BY

Northern Quarter

Tib Street Tavern

Located in the Northern Quarter, Tib Street Tavern has consistently been one of Manchester's most popular sports bars since it opened in 2012. The basement is where most people prefer to watch live sport, due to having larger screens and more seating. This place fills up quickly and doesn't always accept bookings, so arrive early if you want a seat.

Address: 74 Tib St, Manchester M4 1LG

Spinningfields

Courts Club

Courts Club has been one of the best places to watch the World Cup this summer, thanks almost exclusively to the good weather we've had. The outdoor area here is excellent with plenty of space for fans and several huge screens. There is also an indoor area, which may come in handy for the final.

Address: Goods Yard St, Manchester M3 3BG

St Peter's Square

Director's Box

Director's Box is quite a small sports bar by usual standards, but demand is not expected to be overly high for the World Cup final now that England aren't playing. There are screens everywhere you look, meaning you cannot get a ‘bad' table here.

Printworks

Boom Battle Bar

This is the stereotypical modern-day sports bar, which offers visitors more than just a pint and a big screen. There are several activities you can book here for before, during or after the match, including interactive darts and axe throwing.

Address: Printworks, 27 Withy Grove, Manchester M4 2BS

Cholrton

The Royal Oak

As you might be able to guess by the name, The Royal Oak is more of a traditional pub rather than a modern sports bar, but they still do a good job of making it a good venue for live sport. With order-from-the-table available across the venue, and a decent food menu, this is a spot worth checking out if you can't be mithered with the crowds in the city centre.

Address: 440 Barlow Moor Rd, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 0BQ

Didsbury

The Fletcher Moss

If you are looking to have a day session that leads up to the World Cup final, you won't go far wrong with the Fletcher Moss in Didsbury. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside will take you by surprise, in a good way. The outdoor area is stunning and large, so if the weather holds up this weekend, why not set up base here?

Address: 1 William St, Didsbury, Manchester M20 6RQ

Salford Quays

The Salmon of Knowledge

The best place to watch live sport in Salford Quays is the Salmon of Knowledge. Located just off the Metrolink at Media City, the Salmon of Knowledge has a huge bar with a wide selection of lagers, ales, and other alcoholic beverages.

Address: Dock House, MediaCity UK, Salford M50 2EQ

Old Trafford

The Quadrant

The Quadrant is one of the best pubs within a one-mile radius of Old Trafford football stadium. It is big enough to accommodate large groups, and has an outdoor area for overspill, which may come in handy if we get more good weather on Saturday.

Address: 67 Great Stone Rd., Old Trafford, Stretford, Manchester M32 8GR
