Cole Palmer is having a sensational debut season at Chelsea after making the move from Man City in the summer. The England forward has scored 16 goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League for the Blues and has been a shining light in an otherwise dismal season for the club.
One question has seemed to follow the 21-year-old around in his young career – who does Cole Palmer support? After coming through the ranks at Man City, many people assumed he was a fan of the club. However, pictures emerged on social media of him in a Man Utd top as a kid while his family are from Wythenshawe – a Man Utd stranglehold in South Manchester
The man himself provided the answer to the question after netting a hat-trick against Man Utd on Thursday night. In an interview with TNT Sports, Palmer said “When I was growing up, I was a United fan” when talking through how special it was to net his first senior hat trick against them.

Man Utd fans taunt Cole Palmer
With the debate on ‘who does Cole Palmer support' put to bed, Man Utd fans may regret the chants aimed at him from the away end at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night. Throughout the match, they called him a “City reject” in reference to his previous allegiances.
It was Palmer who would have the last laugh, scoring three goals, including two in the final two minutes of the match to down United and win the game for Chelsea.
Considering United's issues on the wings this season, the club's new hierarchy may well have taken note of Palmer's admission of being a Red growing up. Only Alejandro Garnacho has performed well for the club on either wing this season with Antony and Marcus Rashford both struggling immensely.
If they do target the right wing in the summer, then a boyhood fan who is capable of scoring goals and making them should perhaps be right at the top of their shopping list.
