With the 2026 World Cup now less than a month away, and the vast majority of tickets already snapped up, thousands of travelling supporters are finalising their plans for what promises to be the biggest tournament in history.

For those lucky enough to have secured seats across the host nations of the United States, Mexico and Canada, one practical question keeps coming up: Will the World Cup 2026 stadiums accept cash?

In short, mostly not. The overwhelming majority of venues now operate fully cashless systems, though there are important differences from stadium to stadium, with each host ground using its own mix of payment methods and policies.

FootballGroundGuide provides a clear, stadium‑by‑stadium breakdown of how you’ll be able to pay at all 16 venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

United States

Atalanta Stadium (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

Mercedes-Benz Stadium only accepts card and mobile payments, with all mobile vendors, concession stands, bars and retail locations requiring payment via card or mobile.

The stadium is equipped with cash-to-card kiosks, which can be found outside Section 101 and 122, which allow cash to be converted onto a prepaid card that can be used anywhere inside or directly outside the stadium.

Boston Stadium (Gillette Stadium)

Gillette Stadium has converted into a completely cashless stadium ahead of the World Cup, with only contactless payment options accepted within the stadium.

Supporters who attend the stadium will be able to make use of the five cash-to-card kiosks around the stadium that can convert cash to Visa prepaid cards.

Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium)

The AT&T Stadium is entirely cashless, with all food, beverage parking and retail transactions requiring payment via major credit and debit cards or through mobile payment.

Houston Stadium (NRG Stadium)

The NRG Stadium has gradually converted to a cashless system for many of its largest events, and matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup are expected to follow suit, meaning a card or mobile payment will be required.

Kansas City Stadium (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium)

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is already fully cashless, with the following credit cards accepted throughout the venue: Mastercard, American Express, Visa and Discover.

Debit card and mobile payments, through either Apple Pay or Google Pay, are also accepted in and around the stadium.

Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium)

SoFi Stadium is a cashless ground, with all points of sale credit, debit or gift card only.

Cash-to-card kiosks are available on Level 4 South at SoFi Circle near Section 234 and at the upper American Airlines Plaza near the gates, with these kiosks allowing guests to convert physical cash into a prepaid debit card.

Miami Stadium (Hard Rock Stadium)

Cash is no longer accepted at the Hard Rock Stadium, including at parking gates, the box office, concessions and retail locations.

While mobile and card payments are accepted, fans can also convert cash into pre-paid gift cards at the Guest Experience Headquarters near Section 115, 143, 215, 243, 315 and 343.

New York New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium)

MetLife Stadium, which is set to host the 2026 World Cup final, already operates as a fully cash-free venue, with cash not accepted at concession stands or retail locations.

Supporters can pay using debit cards, credit cards and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, while reverse ATMs are available onsite for those who bring cash to load onto a prepaid card for any in-stadium purchases.

Philadelphia Stadium (Lincoln Financial Field)

Lincoln Financial Field has transitioned to a cashless payment system for major events, and fixtures at the World Cup are expected to follow suit.

San Francisco Bay Area Stadium (Levi's Stadium)

Levi's Stadium has already transitioned into a fully cashless venue, with only card and mobile payments accepted for concessions, merchandise and any other purchases throughout the venue.

There are a number of cash-to-card kiosks around the ground that will allow fans to exchange cash for a Visa-branded prepaid card, allowing up to $100 to be exchanged for no transaction fee.

Seattle Stadium (Lumen Field)

Similar to the other stadiums throughout the United States, Lumen Field only accepts card and contactless payment at concessions, retail, parking and vendors.

For fans without cards, cash-to-card kiosks are located around the stadium that allow fans to exchange between $1-$500 onto a prepaid card for no transaction fee. While these cards are accepted as payment at most locations around the stadium, they cannot be used at Amazon Just Walk out locations inside the venue.
