World Cup quarter-final tickets: Prices and how to buy

World Cup quarter-final tickets: Prices and how to buy
ZUMA Press, Inc./Alamy Live News

It may only seem like it was last week that the World Cup group stages kicked off with a clash between Mexico and South Africa at the Estadio Azteca, but we are now hurtling towards the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The first quarter-final will take place on Thursday, 9 July, with a match between France and Morocco and by Sunday, 12 July, we will know which four nations will compete in the semi-final the following week.

If you have caught World Cup fever and are on the hunt for World Cup quarter-final tickets, here is everything you need to know.

How to get World Cup 2026 quarter-final tickets

Via FIFA

The vast majority of quarter-final tickets were allocated during the early ticket ballots, which took place at the back end of 2025. However, all hope is not lost as there are still two official ways to get your hands on quarter-final tickets.

The first method is to use FIFA's Last-Minute Sales Phase, which has been ongoing since April. FIFA have been adding tickets for most matches sporadically, and there is a chance a handful may appear for some of the quarter-finals. The best way to find out is to regularly check the ticket portal from now until the matches kick off.

The second method is to use FIFA's official resale platform. This is where ticket holders can list tickets to other fans. Unfortunately, there is no cap on what fans can charge for these tickets, so prices for the quarter-finals are expected to be hefty.

Via third parties

Considering FIFA are effectively allowing ticket touting on their resale platform, many fans are turning to third-party resale websites to see if they can pick up tickets at a lower price.

While these websites do not offer the same ticket guarantees as FIFA, some can be trusted because they verify that all tickets are legitimate before listing them.

To give FGG readers peace of mind, we recently reviewed two of the biggest resale platforms, Seatpick and LiveFootballTickets, and fans are encouraged to read those reviews before purchasing.

World Cup quarter-final ticket prices

Ticket prices for the World Cup have been heavily criticised over the past six months, but as we reach the business end of the tournament, we are unlikely to see any empty seats, which is only likely to empower FIFA to price future tournaments in a similar way.

Face value tickets for the quarter-finals were originally priced between $275 and $1,775 before FIFA were persuaded to add a few $60 tickets for fans of the competing nations.

With all of these tickets now sold out, fans are being forced to the resale market, where tickets are even more expensive. The cheapest ticket on the FIFA resale market for any quarter-final is over $1,000, while on SeatPick, you can pick up tickets for France vs Morocco for £750.
