Wrexham mural painter shows off new work at ‘The Turf’ pub

Liam Stokes-Massey has revealed his latest mural outside ‘The Turf’ pub, located next to Wrexham’s home ground, the Racecourse.

‘The Turf’ is a famous pub that Wrexham fans congregate in before and after matches and became well-known thanks to the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary.

Previous Wrexham mural works from Stokes-Massey

Stokes-Massey has also painted murals in honour of goalscorer Paul Mullin and manager Phil Parkinson. The mural of Parkinson depicts the experienced manager clapping the Wrexham supporters with ‘The Boss’ in bold white writing next to him. After it was completed in early March, the Wrexham boss came to visit the mural and chat with Stokes-Massey. This was shared on X.com on March 15, 2024.

The Wrexham mural designer illustrated Mullin on the side of the Fat Boar pub. It took Stokes-Massey seven days to depict the 16-goal striker with the help of his wife, which was completed in August 2023.

The artist sells his work in Wrexham’s Ty Pawb and also accepts international commissions, especially from the US, highlighting the ever-increasing reach of the League Two club.

‘Wrexham is the name’ – Stokes-Massey unveils latest mural

Stokes-Massey revealed his latest mural on social media on March 25. It is located just outside The Turf and says ‘Wrexham is the name’ in bold red writing with an all-black background. He was quick to thank the landlord of The Turf, Wayne Jones, who commissioned the designer to complete the artwork.

Wrexham fans were impressed with the latest mural on X.com and are eager to see it in person. @adamsquire3786 said: “Well done mate. Excellent work.” @wasUESH added: “Simply beautiful…it’s even more amazing than I had imagined, fantastic job my man!”
