Leeds fans have built up a reputation in English football as being one of the loudest and most passionate fan bases in the country.
This isn't a new thing, either, but rather something that stretches back to the 1960s and 70s when the White were, at times, one of the best sides in England and Europe on the pitch, and one of the most notorious off it.
It was during this period that the fans started singing ‘Marching on Together' at Elland Road. For all the information on the chant, including the lyrics and story behind it, we have you covered below.
Marching on Together chant, lyrics and tune
Marching on Together was a song recorded and released by Leeds United ahead of their 1972 Cup final against Arsenal. The lyrics to the chorus are as follows:
Marching On Together!
We're gonna see you win,
Na na na na na na,
We are so proud,
We shout it out loud,
We love you, Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!
Marching on Together background
As mentioned, Marching on Together was a football song officially created by Leeds United ahead of the 1972 FA Cup final, where the Whites met Arsenal at Wembley Stadium.
This wasn't an unusual thing to do at the time, as Man Utd did the same with Glory Glory Man United, and Chelsea also did it for ‘Blue is the Colour‘. The song proved to be hit with Leeds fans and the wider public, as it remained in the UK charts for three months.
Leeds ended up winning the cup final by one goal to nil, and the chant was therefore given a longer shelf life by Leeds fans. It then just became part of the furniture at Elland Road, and is now played every match before kick-off.

FGG says: An iconic chant
There is something to be said about having an anthem that is belted out pre-match at home games. It often creates a special atmosphere during the match, and that is very much the case at Elland Road, which is fast becoming one of, if not the, loudest stadiums in the Premier League.
