AC Milan’s all-Italian Europa League quarter-final clash with Roma was not a happy one for the Rossoneri.
After losing the first leg 1-0 at the San Siro, they were unable to turn the game around at the Stadio Olimpico, despite Roma right-back Mehmet Zeki Çelik having been sent off in the first half. They ended up losing the game 2-1 (3-1 aggregate) and crashed out of Europe.
It’s safe to say the travelling fans were not impressed, and they did not hide their feelings from the players after the game.

Milan ultras voice their discontent
As the players went over to the away section to apologise, they were met with chants of “Grow some balls” by the AC Milan ultras.
While initially clapping, the Milan players ended up having to stand there, hands on hips, and accept the fans’ verdict – that it was their fault that the team had lost the “most important game of the season”.

Will it get easier for the Rossoneri?
It was Milan’s third match in a row without a win, and it does not look like it will get any easier for the Rossoneri. On Monday night they play rivals Inter in a game in which they need to avoid defeat to prevent the Nerazzuri from mathematically sealing the title.
After that, they will travel to Turin to face Juventus. They are currently six points above the Old Lady – who sit in third – but the gap may well have closed by then.
Manager Stefano Pioli could well be in danger of losing his job – he will not want to see any more performances which lead to his side being confronted by their own fans again.
