Liverpool fans will embark on their final European away trip of the Champions League league phase this week when they make the short journey to France to see their side take on Marseille.
The Red need to win both of their final two matches to guarantee their place in the Round of 16, while Marseille can ill afford to lose, with a place in the playoffs not guaranteed.
The trip to Marseille is one that will be a first for many Liverpool supporters. The two sides last met during the group stages of the 2008/09 edition of the Champions League, where the Reds ran out as 2-1 winners in Marseille.

Liverpool have been given an allocation of 3,368 tickets for the match against Marseille at the Stade Velodrome, and all of these tickets have been sold. While this is a decent number of tickets, it is marginally below the 5% requirement that UEFA stipulates all clubs must give away supporters in the Champions League.
Liverpool have made a statement urging all ticketless fans not to travel to Marseille for the match. However, due to how easy it is to get to, it will not be a surprise if some do.

The away section at the Stade Velodrome is located in the northeast corner between the Tribune Jean Bouin and the Virage Nord. The away end is in the upper tier of this section, but the view of the pitch from here is excellent.
Liverpool fans can expect heavy segregation either side of the away end, while protective netting is also commonplace to prevent objects being thrown in and out.

Liverpool fans have been told to avoid the Old Port (Vieux Port) area on matchday, as this is where the Marseille ultras typically congregate. Away fans have also been told not to wear anything that will identify them as Liverpool fans, and to avoid putting up Liverpool flags in public places.

How to get to the Stade Velodrome: Guide for Liverpool fans
Liverpool fans have been instructed that the only way they should travel to the stadium on Wednesday night is via Joilette Station near the fan meeting point. The local police are going to take Liverpool fans in groups of 500 from the meeting point to the metro station.
In order to board the metro, fans will need to show a valid match ticket. This will also act as a metro ticket, meaning travel to the stadium is effectively free.
