Blackburn commence “major” Ewood Park upgrades to run throughout 2026-27 season

Blackburn Rovers have announced that a major steelwork refurbishment is now underway at Ewood Park, with plans for the work to continue throughout the 2026-27 season.

The club have announced that the work is the next step in the multi-million-pound programme of investment in their home stadium's long-term future.

Ewood Park to undergo extensive roof refurbishment

Blackburn Rovers have released a statement confirming that work to extensively refurbish Ewood Park's roof has commenced and will continue throughout the 2026-27 season.

The refurbishment is the next phase of work in protecting and enhancing the home of Blackburn Rovers, following on from the installation of a new hybrid playing surface at Ewood Park earlier this summer.

The project represents a substantial investment in the stadium's infrastructure and hopes to help ensure the venue can provide the best possible environment for players, staff and supporters for the long-term future.

Steve Curwood, the club's Chief Executive, said: “This project represents another major milestone in our long-term commitment to investing Ewood Park and delivering the highest possible standards for our players, staff and supporters.”

Mountain Earth, the principal contractor, will be carrying out work across three stands over the coming months, with 6,000m of steelwork that forms the structural framework of the roof set to be refurbished.

Blackburn Rovers confirmed that the work will be continuing throughout the 2026-27 season, but supporters have been assured that the project has been carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption on matchdays.
