Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been warned to plan their journeys carefully ahead of Saturday's London derby at Stamford Bridge.

A District Line suspension will disrupt travel across west London, leaving fans needing alternative routes to reach the 17:30pm kick-off.

Why Chelsea and Spurs fans must find alternative routes to Stamford Bridge

Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed there will be no District Line service between Edgware Road and Embankment, and Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia), Richmond and Wimbledon on Saturday 24th October.

The disruption could cause significant problems for supporters travelling to Fulham Broadway, particularly those coming from south and west London, with the usual route to the stadium unavailable.

One alternative is to take the Piccadilly Line to Earl's Court and walk to Stamford Bridge, a journey of approximately 25-30 minutes. Supporters who would rather avoid the walk can use replacement bus DL5, which will operate between Earl's Court, West Brompton and Fulham Broadway.

Fans arriving at Paddington on the Elizabeth Line could take the number 27 bus to Hammersmith before changing to the 211, which stops around a five-minute walk from the ground. Other buses serving the surrounding area include the 11, 14 and 22.

Whichever option supporters choose, leaving earlier than usual is advisable, with queues and crowded platforms possible around Earl's Court during the build-up to kick-off.

FGG says: Be sure to plan your Stamford Bridge journey early this weekend

London derbies are busy enough without supporters having to navigate unexpected transport problems, so checking the route before leaving home is particularly important this weekend.

The Piccadilly Line and replacement buses provide alternatives, but neither should be treated as a guarantee of a completely stress-free journey during the pre-match rush.

FootballGroundGuide has a dedicated guide to getting to Stamford Bridge, covering the available transport options and helping supporters plan their visit.

Our advice is simple – allow extra time, check for updates before travelling and avoid leaving your journey until the last minute.
