EFL announce Championship, League One & League Two final day and play-offs dates

The dates for the last day of the Championship, League One and League Two seasons have been announced, as well as the schedule for the play-offs.

League One and Two final day

The final round of League One fixtures will take place at 12:30 on Saturday, April 27. On the same day, at 15:00, the final games of the League Two season will start.

Portsmouth and Derby currently occupy the automatic promotion spots in League One, with Cheltenham, Fleetwood Town, Port Vale, and Carlisle below the dotted line at the bottom.

Mansfield, Stockport, and Wrexham are the top three in League Two currently, with MK Dons ready to pounce on any dropped points. Forest Green and Sutton are the bottom two and will be looking to avoid the drop into the non-league.

Championship final day

The Championship season will end a week later, with matches starting at 12:30 on Saturday, May 4.

Leeds and Leicester both sit on 82 points at the top of the Championship table, with Ipswich Town in close pursuit. Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday, and Rotherham occupy the bottom three.

The Championship first leg game that will involve fifth versus fourth had been scheduled for Monday May 13th, but was rescheduled to Sunday May 12th at 2:15pm.

This is because Aston Villa have their Premier League game at home against Liverpool on Monday evening, meaning that there was a possibility that West Brom would have their Championship playoff fixture at home on the same night.

Police would not allow such a clash, and so to be on the safe side, the EFL decided to move the kick-off back to the Sunday.
