Elland Road’s redevelopment is steadily taking shape, with new drone footage offering a clear look at the busy work unfolding across the site.

The stadium itself remains largely unchanged for now, but the groundwork behind the scenes continues to build momentum.

Leeds making progress with Elland Road redevelopment

A new video has provided the latest look at Leeds United's Elland Road expansion, with piling work continuing to dominate activity across the redevelopment site.

The update shows multiple heavy machines in operation as contractors carry out deep foundation work for the new stand.

This piling process remains one of the most important phases of the project, with rigs drilling into the ground before reinforcement cages are installed and the holes filled with concrete to create the foundations for the future structure.

Elsewhere on site, concrete removal and waste separation work continues, while activity has also been spotted around the hospitality building, where electrical installation appears to be progressing.

Although there is still no visible sign of the new dugouts, preparations continue elsewhere, with work also taking place on existing structures that could be ready for future cladding or painting.

The footage highlights the scale of the operation behind the scenes, with numerous machines working across the site, including ground-levelling equipment in the area that will eventually sit behind the new stand.

While supporters may not yet see major structural elements rising above the stadium, the extensive groundwork currently underway is laying the foundations for the next phase of the redevelopment.

FGG says: The biggest changes at Elland Road are still to come

At this stage, Elland Road is a project where progress is measured more by what's happening below ground than above it.

Piling and foundation work may not make for the most eye-catching updates, but they're among the most important parts of any major stadium redevelopment.

There's clearly plenty happening behind the scenes at Elland Road, even if the visual transformation is yet to accelerate.

Once the groundwork is complete and steelwork begins to emerge, supporters should start to see the redevelopment take shape much more quickly.
