Getting tickets for Premier League football matches can be a difficult task at times, particularly for games involving the league's biggest clubs, such as Manchester United and Liverpool.

The only way to guarantee yourself a ticket for every Premier League match involving your favourite team is to buy a season ticket. Across the league, these tickets grant access to all 19 Premier League games, at the absolute minimum, with some season tickets also covering cup action.

Below, we run through the general process of buying a season ticket in the Premier League

How to buy a Premier League season ticket

Most Premier League season tickets can be purchased online directly through your preferred club. Some clubs also sell them at their physical ticket offices, so the first thing you must do is find out where you can purchase them.

You may find during this stage of the process that there are no season tickets available. If this is the case, you will usually be able to sign up to a season ticket waiting list. This means you will get priority access should any season tickets become available once you reach the top of the waiting list.

Some clubs now charge supporters to join their waiting lists, so this is another thing you may have to consider.

Once you are finally in a position to buy a season ticket, the next thing you are asked to do is select which type of ticket you want (in terms of age) and where in the stadium you want to sit. From there, you will be able to pay for your season ticket. Some clubs require you to pay the full amount up front, while others allow you to pay in monthly instalments.

Prices vary from club to club. The most expensive season ticket in the Premier League can be found at Craven Cottage (£3,084), while the cheapest can be found at the MKM Stadium (£396).

In years gone by, it was often a case of ringing up your club's ticket office during the off-season and asking what they had available. Now, it feels like there are several hoops to jump through just to get to the point of purchase. Is it worth it? We'll let you know in May!
