How to get Newcastle United Carabao Cup final tickets

On Sunday, 16 March, Newcastle United will face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium. The winner will take home the first piece of silverware of the season.

Both teams have plenty of incentive to win the cup. For Newcastle, it's a second chance in three years to break a 70-year cup drought. Liverpool can retain the trophy they won last year while also bringing Arne Slot his first trophy as Liverpool manager.

With just over 30,000 tickets released for each side, demand is expected to be incredibly high. If you're looking for tickets to the Newcastle United Carabao Cup final, you've come to the right spot. Our guide below provides all the details on where to purchase them and their prices.

Newcastle United will also get 230 tickets for wheelchair users and accompanying personal assistants. These tickets are also subject to the same priority system as stated below.

Newcastle United Carabao Cup final tickets: Buying guide

Newcastle United Carabao Cup final allocation

Newcastle United have been allocated just 31,939 standard tickets for the cup final. The club was allowed to bring a reduction from the number of fans for the 2022/23 season final against Manchester United.

While Liverpool have been given the same number, it does mean that the remaining 30,000 tickets are being left open to corporate sponsors and Wembley members. With the atmosphere at Wembley for cup finals already critiqued by fans, this won't help matters. While a number of these corporate tickets will end up going to Newcastle and Liverpool fans, these won't make up the majority.

Newcastle United Carabao Cup final ticket sales process

Fans often criticise Newcastle United's ticket process, and the cup final will likely face similar issues. The tickets will be distributed in three initial waves:

Pot 1: On Wednesday, 12 February, at noon, seat selection begins for season ticket holders in the cup scheme who have attended at least five Carabao Cup matches.

Pot 2: On Thursday, 13 February, at noon, seat selection will be available for season ticket holders in the cup scheme who have attended four Carabao Cup matches.

Pot 3: On Friday, 14 February, at noon, seat selection starts for season ticket holders in the cup scheme who have attended three Carabao Cup matches.

If tickets are still available after 16 February, then the ticket process will open up to three more ticketing pots:

Pot 4: Ballot for season ticket holders in the Cup Scheme who have attended two Carabao Cup matches. The ballot opens on Monday, 17 February, at noon and closes at noon on Tuesday, 18 February. Fans who are successful in the ballot will receive an email by 5pm on Tuesday, 18 February. Seat selection begins at noon on Wednesday, 19 February, and ends at noon on Thursday, 20 February.

Pot 5: Ballot for season ticket holders enrolled in the Cup Scheme that attended one Carabao Cup match. The ballot opens Thursday, 20 February, at noon and closes Friday, 21 February, at noon. Successful fans will be emailed by 5pm on Friday. Seat selection opens Saturday, 22 February, at noon and closes Sunday, 23 February, at noon.

Pot 6: The ballot opens for season ticket holders enrolled in the Cup Scheme who did not attend a match. Season ticket holders not enrolled in the Cup Scheme and Mags/Mags+ Members who entered a ballot and/or purchased a ticket for a home Carabao Cup match.

Newcastle United Carabao Cup final tickets – Alternative options

Carabao Cup final hospitality

There are six memberships to choose from:

  • Private box – Enquire online
  • One Twenty – £13,002
  • Bobby Moore – £9,030
  • Number Nine – £6,342
  • Centre Circle – £5,046
  • Inner Circle – £2,640

Ticket resale websites

Whenever there's a significant match, a third-party ticket market inevitably emerges, and prices will be elevated. Additionally, there's a danger of falling victim to scams on these sites, so it’s essential to be cautious when using them. To help, we have recently evaluated two of the most trusted ticket resale websites:

Monitoring both websites as the final approaches is important, although tickets will be pricey. Still, if you're a Newcastle United supporter lacking other options to enter the stadium, this might be your most reliable choice.

Newcastle fan groups rally support

Many Newcastle fans who remember the Man United final will know that the atmosphere from the NUFC fans was a little odd. While the end-of-game display was excellent, the general noise from fans felt off. This was down to how seating was allocated, with fans wanting to sing and fans wanting to sit and watch being mixed together.

This time, however, NUFC fan groups have come together to issue a statement to help fans pick their seats.

In a joint statement from Wor Flags, NUST, True Faith, and many more:

With the release of cup final ticketing allocations, supporters groups have been discussing the frustrations amongst many about the atmosphere in our end the last time out at Wembley. In March, we want to ensure that we create an electric atmosphere in the stands.

FGG says: Fan allocation suffers

Once again, in a major cup final at a neutral venue, the fans of the two clubs suffer. With a capacity the size of Wembley, 31,000 tickets for each set of fans is frankly a joke. For an England game, it makes sense; Wembley is England's home stadium, but for the club side, it's silly. 40,000 should be the target and would be much more representative of the home fans at a game.
