Villa Park's redevelopment continues to take shape with fresh aerial footage showing the latest progress at Aston Villa's historic home.

With the 2026/27 Premier League season just around the corner, significant groundwork has been completed while the next major phase of construction is beginning to emerge.

Latest footage shows Villa Park state of play ahead of 2026-27 season

The latest footage, filmed on August 19th, shows continued activity across the Villa Park expansion site, with foundation work progressing in several areas.

Drilling and exposed pile caps are visible around the corners of the stadium, while the old section of the roof has now been completely removed. The footprint of the new side extension is also becoming increasingly clear.

Work is continuing on the new scoreboard and disabled section, with cleaning and general preparation taking place across the existing stands ahead of Villa's first Premier League home fixture against Arsenal on August 31st.

The exterior is also beginning to change, with new brickwork being installed to retain Villa Park's traditional appearance. Cladding appears close to completion in some areas of the development.

Despite the construction work surrounding it, the pitch remains in excellent condition, with the latest footage showing it fully marked up and ready for the new campaign.

The redevelopment is expected to accelerate further once the steel framework begins rising in the coming weeks, with the foundations now providing the base for the next major stage of construction.

FGG says: The next stage should really bring this to life

Villa Park is clearly still in the groundwork phase, but the scale of what is coming is becoming easier to see with every update.

The arrival of the steel framework should be the point when supporters really start to see the redevelopment taking shape, and the progress so far suggests there is plenty more to come.
