Barcelona are set to return to the Camp Nou this weekend, with the Catalonian giants set to take on Athletic Bilbao at their revamped home.

While the full Camp Nou renovation is still incomplete, the club will welcome 45,401 supporters into the stadium for the match against Athletic Club after they received a Phase 1B license from the City Council on Monday.

One man who is particularly excited about playing at the Camp Nou is Lamine Yamal, who has only played a handful of games at the stadium in the past due to his age. On Sunday, the 18-year-old took to social media to share a special message with Barcelona fans.

Yamal sends Camp Nou message

Yamal's post on Instagram on Sunday night was seemingly taken from the roof terrace of the teenager's new home just outside the city centre. The video panned across the city's skyline before it zoomed in on Barcelona's home, and the caption read ‘Special nights are coming'.

The message from Yamal to Barcelona fans comes during a period where the winger is receiving criticism for the first time in his home country. Yamal withdrew from the recent Spain national team squad and has been accused of prioritising his club career over representing Spain.

Upon his withdrawal last week, Yamal underwent an ‘invasive radiofrequency procedure' to treat discomfort in his groin. The Spanish FA released a statement shortly afterwards, expressing their ‘surprise' and ‘dismay' that such a procedure took place without their knowledge.

Will Yamal play in Barcelona's Camp Nou return?

Although Yamal has expressed his excitement about returning to the Camp Nou, he will more than likely have to wait to play on the hallowed turf.

Although Barcelona haven't confirmed how long the teenager is expected to be out for, it would be a surprise for him to feature in the match this weekend against Athletic Bilbao. As a result, the earliest he could play at the Camp Nou this season is on 29 November against Alaves.

FGG says: The new King of the Camp Nou?

The parallels between Yamal and Lionel Messi are there for all to see, and while we aren't suggesting for one minute that the teenager will go on to have a career to rival Messi, there is every chance that he becomes the new King of the Camp Nou. His first appearance at Barcelona's revamped home can't come soon enough.
