Latest Etihad Stadium redevelopment footage shows fresh progress on new skywalk and hotel works

Manchester City's Etihad Stadium redevelopment project continues to progress, with fresh aerial footage showing changes across the wider entertainment district.

The latest update includes work around the new hotel, public areas and structures forming part of the club's expanding stadium complex.

The latest footage, filmed on August 25th, shows a new crane on site alongside the area where components for the new Sky Walk are being stored.

The Sky Walk sections are yet to be installed, with some components still partially assembled in the storage area, although the nearby crane could assist with moving the large structural pieces when work gets underway.

The new hotel area also appears tidier, while work around Medlock Square and the Joe Merc area includes further tarmac and landscaping.

Public access routes around parts of the development also appear to have reopened following the expansion of the North Stand.

Elsewhere, construction around Cobra Court is moving quickly, with new stairwells and multi-storey sections taking shape.

A recently cleared demolition area also provides another indication of the scale of the ongoing works.

The 401-room Medlock hotel is scheduled to open later in 2026 and will be operated by Radisson Hotel Group under its Radisson Blu brand.

The latest footage shows that the Etihad Stadium project is about far more than just football, with the surrounding entertainment destination continuing to take shape.

The Sky Walk still has some way to go, but the stored components and new crane suggest another major feature is waiting to be assembled.

With the hotel opening later this year, City's wider redevelopment is steadily becoming a genuine year-round destination.
