MKM Stadium's history and unique features

Construction began in 2001, with the £44m project completed the following year.

The stadium officially opened on 18th December 2002, when Hull City beat Sunderland 1-0 in a friendly in front of their supporters.

The move from Boothferry Park increased the club's capacity by over 8,000 seats.

The ground comprises four main stands, with the West Stand featuring two tiers while the North, South and East Stands are single-tier structures. Its 105m by 68m pitch also features undersoil heating and a hybrid grass surface.

The stadium has undergone three commercial naming identities: KC Stadium (2002-2016), KCOM Stadium (2016-2021) and MKM Stadium (2021-present). MKM Building Supplies secured the current naming rights in June 2021.

The prices equate to monthly direct debits of £33, £41 and £50 respectively. Junior memberships cost £96 annually across all three zones.

With a capacity exceeding 25,500, a £44m construction bill and three different commercial names, the MKM Stadium has become an important sporting and entertainment venue in Hull since opening more than two decades ago.
