Pubs in Como: Best places for Man United fans to eat and drink

On Wednesday, 21 October, Manchester United will take on Como in what will be the club's first-ever visit to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

The stadium, which sits on the banks of Lake Como, is a bucket-list trip for many football fans, so there was plenty of excitement among matchgoing United fans when the draw was made.

Due to the small size of the Giuseppe Sinigaglia, United have only received an allocation of 830 tickets. For those lucky enough to have a ticket, here are the best places to visit for food and drink in the build-up to the match.

Man Utd fans in Como: Best places to eat

La Griglia di Como

Enjoy a reasonably priced pizza or pasta dish in an old-school setting. An ideal place to visit if you aren't bothered about rooftop bars on the lake and just want a quick in-and-out.

Address: Via Rezzonico, 2, 22100 Como CO, Italy

Ristorante Crianza

A strong choice for a proper sit-down meal, with a focus on Puglian cuisine from southern Italy. It has a 4.7/5 rating from over 1,000 reviews on Trustpilot, and is generally appreciated by locals, making it more than just a tourist trap.

Address: Via Gerolamo Borsieri, 18, 22100 Como CO, Italy

Terraza 241

If you want a bit of luxury while overlooking Lake Como, Terraza 241 is the place to go. While this rooftop bar/restuarant is part of the Hilton, it is also open to the general public. The menu includes steaks, lobsters and risottos, all of which can be washed down with a cocktail or two.

Address: Via Borgo Vico, 241, 22100 Como CO, Italy

Man Utd fans in Como: Best places to drink

Il Birrivico

A good first stop if you want a relaxed, proper-pub feel rather than a fancy cocktail lounge. It has a wide beer selection and attracts local football fans, so ideal if you want to meet some local Como supporters before the match.

Address: Via Borgo Vico, 28, 22100 Como CO, Italy

Enoteca Da Gigi

For a more authentic Italian experience, head to this longstanding wine bar in Como's historic centre. It’s a place to slow down over a glass of Italian wine and enjoy the traditional aperitivo ritual rather than head straight for heavy lagers and cocktails.

Address: Via Bernardino Luini, 48, 22100 Como CO, Italy

Terrazza Olmo

A stylish alternative for cocktails, aperitivo and lake views without going to the Hilton rooftop. It’s just outside the centre and is known for its attractive terrace and quality drinks.

Address: Via Per Cernobbio, 2, 22100 Como CO, Italy
