The minimum age to bet is 21, except in Kentucky and Washington D.C., where it is 18. Both the bet365 app and the mobile site check your location, so you must be physically inside a licensed state to bet:

bet365 New Jersey (NJ)

New Jersey was bet365's first US sportsbook market, launching in August 2019 via Hard Rock Casino Atlantic City. It is one of four states where bet365 also runs an online casino alongside the sportsbook. It is licensed and regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

bet365 Colorado (CO)

bet365 has been legal in Colorado since September 2022 through Century Casinos. It is regulated by the Colorado Division of Gaming. Colorado does not allow player prop bets on college sports.

bet365 Ohio (OH)

Legal sports betting started in Ohio on 1 January 2023, and bet365 went live that month through its partnership with the Cleveland Guardians. In Ohio, bet365 is online only, with no retail sportsbook.

Restrictions to keep in mind:

  • Player prop bets on college sports are banned
  • High school sports betting is prohibited
  • E-sports markets require approval from the Ohio Casino Control Commission

bet365 Virginia (VA)

bet365 launched in Virginia in January 2023 through a partnership with the NFL's Washington Commanders. Anyone aged 21 or over who is physically in Virginia can bet, whether or not they live there.

bet365 Iowa (IA)

bet365 launched in Iowa in June 2023 through a partnership with Casino Queen Marquette. It offers sports betting only, as online casino games are not legal in Iowa.

bet365 Kentucky (KY)

bet365 has been legal in Kentucky since September 2023 through a partnership with Sandy's Gaming and Racing. Key things to know:

  • The minimum betting age is 18, not 21
  • No online casino (sports betting only)
  • Daily Lineups (DFS) is not available

bet365 Louisiana (LA)

bet365 became available in Louisiana in November 2023 after partnering with the Amelia Belle Casino. Regulated by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, it is only available in select parishes where sports betting has been legalised locally. Not all of Louisiana is covered.

bet365 Indiana (IN)

After partnering with French Lick Resort, bet365 became available in Indiana in January 2024. It is regulated by the Indiana Gaming Commission. It is the official sportsbook partner of the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever.

bet365 Arizona (AZ)

bet365 partnered with the Ak-Chin Indian Community to get a licence from the Arizona Department of Gaming, and has offered sports betting in Arizona since February 2024.

bet365 North Carolina (NC)

bet365 entered North Carolina through a partnership with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets and has taken bets there since March 2024. You need to be physically in the state to bet, but you do not need to live there.

bet365 Pennsylvania (PA)

In July 2024, Pennsylvania became the second US state, after New Jersey, where bet365 runs both its sportsbook and its online casino.

bet365 Illinois (IL)

bet365 launched in Illinois in March 2025 through Walker's Bluff Casino Resort. It is also the official sports betting partner of the WNBA's Chicago Sky.

bet365 Tennessee (TN)

bet365 also launched in Tennessee in March 2025. Tennessee licenses online sportsbooks directly and has no casinos, so bet365 does not need a casino partner there.

bet365 Kansas (KS)

bet365 launched in Kansas on 5 August 2025 after approval from the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission. It offers sports betting only, not the casino.

bet365 Maryland (MD)

bet365 launched in Maryland on 30 August 2025. It is regulated by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency and, as in Kansas, offers sports betting only.

bet365 Missouri (MO)

Missouri was bet365's last US launch of 2025. Legal online sports betting went live on December 1, 2025, with bet365 operating under the Missouri Gaming Commission through its mobile sports betting partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals.

bet365 Michigan (MI)

bet365 Michigan went live in April 2026, becoming the operator's 17th US state. It is regulated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Michigan is also one of four states where bet365 offers an online casino alongside the sportsbook, together with New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

bet365 West Virginia (WV)

bet365 went live in West Virginia on 27 August 2026, its 18th US state. It launched its sportsbook and its online casino together, making West Virginia the fourth state with bet365 Casino. You must be 21 or over.

bet365 Washington D.C. (DC)

bet365 launched in Washington D.C. on 8 September 2026, its 19th US market, through a partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, owner of the Washington Wizards, Capitals and Mystics. It offers sports betting only, and D.C. is one of the few US markets where you can bet from 18.

US states where bet365 is not available

bet365 is not available in more than half of US states, including California, Florida, Texas and New York. Here's why:

  • California: online sports betting is not authorised, and there is no timeline for legalisation
  • Florida: the Seminole Tribe has an exclusive deal with the state, so its Hard Rock Bet app is the only legal online sportsbook
  • Texas: sports betting is not legal, and the next chance to change that is the 2027 legislative session
  • New York: bet365 was not among the operators granted an online licence when the state went live in January 2022

States unlikely to legalise online sports betting soon include Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nebraska, South Carolina and Utah.

Is bet365 legal in New York?

No. New York launched legal online sports betting on 8 January 2022, but bet365 is not one of its licensed operators. The eight licensed online sportsbooks are Bally Bet, BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel and theScore Bet, and you must be 21 or over and physically in New York to use them. If you have a bet365 account from New Jersey, you have to be in New Jersey to place a bet.

Is bet365 legal in Texas?

No. Sports betting is not legal in Texas as of September 2026, so bet365 cannot take bets there. The Texas Legislature only holds regular sessions in odd-numbered years, so the next real chance to pass a bill is the 2027 session. Legal sports betting would most likely also need a change to the state constitution, approved by voters.

bet365 legal status in Canada: Provincial regulations

bet365 is licensed in two Canadian provinces. Ontario has had bet365 sports betting and casino since April 2022 (age 19+), and Alberta followed when its regulated market opened on 13 July 2026 (age 18+).

Ontario

bet365 is legal in Ontario after approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) in April 2022. Both online sports betting and casino games are available, and bet365 must meet the same AGCO standards as every other licensed operator in the province.

Ontario has strict player protection rules. You must be 19 or over and physically in the province to bet. Operators cannot show bonuses or promotions in public adverts; offers can only appear on the operator's own site or app, or be sent directly to players who have agreed to receive them.

Alberta

Alberta opened its regulated online betting and casino market on 13 July 2026, and bet365 was live on day one with both its sportsbook and its casino. You must be 18 or over and physically in Alberta to bet.

Rest of Canada

Outside Ontario and Alberta, bet365 has no provincial licence, so you cannot open a regulated bet365 account in the rest of Canada.

Europe is where bet365 is best known. You can open an account from a long list of countries across the continent, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Greece, Croatia, the Netherlands, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, Albania, and Slovakia, among others.

Its home market is the UK, and coverage across continental Europe takes in Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, the Nordics, and much of Eastern Europe. Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, and Switzerland are restricted, either because of local licensing requirements or outright bans on online gambling. France is the newest market: bet365 France launched on 26 May 2026, after the French regulator (ANJ) licensed it for online sports betting in April.

Promotions differ from country to country, even though the core product stays the same. UK customers can see the current bet365 sign up offer. Spain, Italy and Denmark have tighter advertising rules, so their local versions look a little different from the UK product covered in our bet365 review.

bet365 in the Americas

This table covers North, Central and South America. The US and Canada license betting state by state and province by province, so they have their own sections above.

In Brazil, bet365 was one of the operators approved by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA), part of the Ministry of Finance, in February 2025, shortly after the country opened its regulated betting market in January 2025. Licensed betting sites in Brazil use a .bet.br web address, and you must be 18 or over to bet.

Mexico is less clear. bet365 runs there through a local permit holder, Ganador Azteca, a company linked to TV Azteca. The Mexican government suspended the site in November 2025 during a money laundering investigation. A federal judge ordered it to reopen in March 2026, but the government appealed, and local reports in June 2026 said bet365 was still not taking bets in Mexico. Check the bet365 Mexico site before you try to sign up.

Places where bet365 is restricted or banned

bet365 is not available in quite a few countries. In Europe, it is restricted in Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia and Switzerland.

In South America, you cannot use bet365 in Colombia, Venezuela or French Guiana. In Asia, it is not available in China, India, the Philippines or Turkey, and in Africa it is not available in Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria or South Africa.

Is bet365 legal in Portugal?
