Two Wrexham AFC supporters have taken their love for the club to another level after deciding to leave Texas and make a permanent move to North Wales.
Their remarkable story caught the attention of Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds, who responded with a typically tongue-in-cheek message referencing the couple's unlikely route into the club.

Jeff and Janice Ivey, from New Braunfels, Texas, are moving permanently closer to the Racecourse Ground after falling in love with the city through ‘Welcome to Wrexham'.
A merchandise mix‑up led Jeff to exchange emails with Declan Swans singer Michael Hett, who encouraged them to visit, and seven trips later, they felt a sense of community they say they’ve never found in the USA.
Jeff, 62, who has UK citizenship, is already house‑hunting in Wrexham, while Janice, 65, is selling their Texas home and awaiting her visa.
The couple spoke to the BBC and said Wrexham’s working‑class history and welcoming atmosphere mirror their own backgrounds, and they’ve begun volunteering locally while Jeff learns Welsh.
Ryan Reynolds shared their story on X with a six‑word joke: “Thank god they didn’t watch Chernobyl.”
The Iveys insist their support for the Championship club isn’t dependent on results. Jeff has already put down a season‑ticket deposit, saying the club and community are now part of their lives.
