Stevenage have come to an agreement with banking company Sporta to become the club's new principal stadium partner.
The deal, which has been agreed for the next 10 years, means that the League One club's home stadium will now be known as the Sporta Arena for the next decade.
Stevanage announce Sporta agreement
Stevenage have officially announced the 10-year stadium naming rights deal with banking company Sporta.
The deal marks the first naming rights partnership since the former agreement with Lamex Food Group expired in October 2025 after club chairman Phil Wallace retired from the company.
In a statement released by the club, chairman Wallace said “we're delighted to officially welcome Sporta to the Stevenage FC family and to announce the Sporta Arena as the new home of our football club.”
“This is far more than a naming rights agreement. From our very first conversations it was clear that Sporta shared our vision, our ambition and our desire to make a positive impact beyond football.”
“As our club continues to evolve, it is important that we work with partners who genuinely believe in what we are building. Sporta is exactly that type of partner, and we look forward to developing an exciting relationship together over the coming years.”
Speaking about the new agreement, Sporta CEO Andrew Smith said “to launch that partnership in the club's 50th anniversary year, and to see it come to life through Sporta Arena, is a proud moment for us. Our role is to support the club, including players, fans, and community and grassroots initiatives as Stevenage writes the next chapter of its story.”
Sporta branding will be introduced to the newly-named Sporta Arena, digital platforms and club communications over the coming weeks, and fans were able to see the new branding for the first time when Stevenage took on Oxford United in their first home game of the 2026/27 season on August 22.
FGG Says: Change for Stevenage
Stevenage fans may not be particularly excited by the news of a simple stadium name change, but it is certainly a positive for the club, who will be hoping the new partnership can mark the start of a positive decade.
