Aston Villa's stadium transformation is gathering pace, and the latest aerial footage shows clear signs of change.

With preparatory works now underway at Villa Park, the Midlands outfit's ambitious redevelopment is beginning to take visible shape.

North Stand redevelopment update emerges at Villa Park

New drone footage highlights significant early progress on the North Stand project, with demolition work already visible in both the north-east and north-west corners of the ground.

Structures in these areas have been removed as part of the initial phase, clearing space ahead of the main construction work that will eventually see the stand expanded and modernised.

The redevelopment is a central part of the Villans' long-term plans to increase Villa Park’s capacity to over 50,000, bringing the historic ground in line with the demands of modern football while preserving its character.

There are also early signs of the project uncovering elements of the stadium’s past, with “hidden history” reportedly emerging during the strip-out phase, adding another layer to what is already a landmark redevelopment.

FGG says: Aston Villa moving forward with visible progress

This is the moment fans have been waiting for.

Plans and announcements are one thing, but visible progress is what really builds belief, and this footage shows Villa are now properly moving forward.

Early demolition work might not look glamorous, but it’s a crucial stage that signals the project is genuinely underway rather than stuck in planning.

The key now is maintaining momentum as stadium projects can easily stall once the initial burst of activity fades, but if Villa keep pushing at this pace, supporters could soon see rapid changes to one of English football’s most iconic grounds.
