Aston Villa's stadium expansion project has reached a landmark milestone this week, with the first structural sections of the new stand now being installed.

Drone footage from October 8th shows the North Stand redevelopment moving into a much more visible phase as large pre-cast components arrive on site.

The latest footage captures the first pre-cast sections of the new North Stand being lifted into position by cranes, with at least four large structural pieces installed by the end of the update.

The milestone marks a clear shift from groundwork towards the vertical construction of the new stand, with heavy cranes continuing to move materials delivered to the site throughout the day.

Elsewhere, significant work remains focused around the dressing room area, where rebar is being installed ahead of further concrete work.

New pre-cast box sections are also being lifted into position as part of the developing stairwell and lift infrastructure.

Ground-level structural supports remain in place across the site, while the latest footage suggests this side of Villa Park is now slightly further advanced than other areas of the redevelopment.

FGG says: This is a big moment in Villa Park's ambitious expansion

This is an important moment because supporters can now see the new North Stand beginning to rise rather than simply seeing foundations and preparatory work.

The installation of the first sections gives a much clearer indication of the scale of the project, while the continued movement of cranes and structural components suggests the pace of construction is increasing.

There is still a huge amount of work ahead, given the scale and ambition of the redevelopment, but this milestone should give Aston Villa supporters plenty of encouragement.
