Fresh footage from Villa Park has offered Aston Villa supporters another close-up look at the North Stand redevelopment, with major structural work continuing.
Despite home matches taking place during the construction period, the project is progressing towards a larger stadium with a capacity exceeding 50,000.
North Stand changes continue despite Aston Villa home matches
BirminghamLive journalist John Townley shared a short video ahead of their home clash with Brentford showing construction activity around the North Stand, including structural components, scaffolding, earthworks and advertising banners.
The redevelopment has reached a significant stage, with the first large pre-cast concrete sections lifted into position as work moves beyond the initial groundwork and towards the stand's emerging structure.
Preparatory work on the wing sections is also progressing, with the expectation that these components will be erected after the October international break.
The North Stand will remain closed throughout the 2026/27 season while the redevelopment takes place.
Once complete, the project is expected to add more than 5,500 seats, taking Villa Park's capacity beyond 50,000.
Work is also transforming the corner between the Trinity Road Stand and the North Stand, where two new dressing rooms are being constructed.
The new home dressing room will sit further beneath the North Stand, while the away dressing room will be created by combining the existing home and away facilities.
A new players' tunnel is also being built in the same corner, changing the route players use to enter and leave the pitch from the current arrangement through the Trinity Road Stand.
The wider expansion forms part of Aston Villa's long-term stadium ambitions, with the improved ground also supporting aspirations to host major international football, including Euro 2028.
FGG says: Villa Park's North Stand continues to take shape
The arrival of major structural sections is an encouraging milestone for Villa supporters, offering a clearer picture of the scale of the redevelopment after months of groundwork.
With more than 5,500 additional seats planned, the project could significantly improve Villa Park's capacity and matchday potential.
The challenge now is maintaining construction progress while the team continues playing at home, with the finished stand set to be a major addition to the stadium.
