Hearts came agonisingly close to breaking the Celtic and Rangers monopoly in the Scottish Premiership last season, sitting at the top of the standings for much of the campaign only to see their dreams devastatingly snatched away after losing 3-1 to the Hoops on the final day.

Their misery has only been compounded over the summer, following the departures of Derek McInnes and Lawrence Shankland to Rangers and their 6-0 aggregate defeat to Sturm Graz in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

One man who has remained loyal to Hearts, for now at least, is Claudio Braga, and that has only increased the adoration shown by the Hearts fans towards their forward.

Regardless, if Braga is to stay, and he has said he is ‘happy' in Scotland, then expect Hearts fans to belt out this chant at Tynecastle throughout the season.

New Hearts chant reaction

To say that the new Hearts chant has gone down well on social media would be an understatement. Fans of other clubs in British football have lauded the chant, labelling it as one of the best around in the modern game.

One user posted on X, “That's the BEST football chant I've ever heard. Absolutely top tier”, while another said, “Genuinely the best chant I’ve ever heard. Them Scots have come out with some belters, but this tops the lot!”

The chant has also travelled well beyond Scotland, with clips shared widely across European football pages and picking up attention from neutral supporters who may not usually follow the Scottish game.

Braga himself has also reportedly acknowledged the chant, strengthening the player-fan connection that has been a key part of the Jambos' success this season and further solidifying the forward, who has netted 16 goals this season, as a cult hero figure at Tynecastle Park.

The worry now is that other clubs will jump on the bandwagon and use the Radio Gaga tune for their own players. Realistically, though, nobody is going to do it as well as Hearts, primarily because there isn't a name that will fit as well as ‘Claudio Braga'

FGG says: They're not the first, but this is the best

Despite popular belief on social media, Hearts aren't actually the first team to use this tune for a football chant in British football. Manchester United fans used the song for their Shinji Kagawa chant back in the early 2010s, but their version was limited to just ‘All we need is, Shinji Kagawa.' It's fair to say that Hearts have improved on that and made the chant their own.
