Trong Dong Stadium project takes huge step forward ahead of 2027
Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, has partnered with Legends Global to manage and operate VinFast – Trong Dong Stadium, which is planned to accommodate 135,000 spectators.
The partnership will see the organisations collaborate on venue management, event operations, vendor coordination and attracting major international sporting, cultural and entertainment events.
Legends Global, which manages more than 450 venues worldwide, will also help train Vingroup’s venue management professionals and develop the expertise needed to operate the vast facility to international standards.
The stadium’s architecture draws inspiration from Vietnam’s Dong Son bronze drum and the legendary Lac bird, combining traditional cultural symbols with contemporary design.

Plans also include an automated retractable roof, a playing surface designed to meet FIFA standards and real-time security and crowd-flow monitoring systems.
The stadium will form part of the wider Hung Vuong International Sports Complex, which is set to include training facilities, hotels, shopping centres, hospitals, parks, theatres and cultural and culinary attractions.
Vingroup believes the development could establish Hanoi as a major destination for international sporting and entertainment events, attracting visitors and stimulating the country’s sports economy.
FGG says: Trong Dong Stadium partnership raises global ambitions
Securing an experienced international operator is an important step for a project of this extraordinary scale.
Building a 135,000-seat stadium is one challenge, but managing crowds, delivering major events and maintaining consistent standards will be just as important.
The wider sports complex could help the venue operate as a destination beyond football, while its distinctive Vietnamese-inspired architecture gives it the potential for a recognisable identity.
