Away supporters at Stadio Brianteo are situated in the Curva Nord stand, which has been reserved for visiting fans since the 2022-23 season.

The Curva Sud (Curva Davide Pieri) at the other end of the ground houses the Monza ultras, who can drum up a serious noise when they are in full flow.

However, spectators visiting Stadio Brianteo should keep in mind that the 17,102-capacity venue is rarely full, considering that average attendances have hovered between 11,000 and 12,000 during Serie A campaigns.

AC Monza promoted to Serie A

AC Monza have earned promotion to Serie A after the 2025-26 Serie B promotion playoff final against Catanzaro.

I Biancorossi won the first leg 2-0, and despite being beaten 2-0 in the second, they bounced back up to the top flight at the first time of asking thanks to their superior league finish (third vs. fifth).

Their ascension to the top flight will see the club reunite with Lombardy derby rival Como.

Options for away fans near the stadium are limited, and it may be worthwhile grabbing a drink in the city centre before heading to the match. Some spots to enjoy a pre-match pint in town include:

Monza is located in Lombardy, roughly 15km north of Milan, and Stadio Brianteo itself is situated around three kilometres from the centre of Monza.

By car

From Melegnano (Barriera Milano Sud):

• On the Tangenziale Est, keep to the right and head north beyond the Viale Palmanova junction before joining the raccordo Tangenziale Nord.
• After around eight kilometre, take the Monza – S. Alessandro exit, stay left into Viale delle Industrie, and follow the main road.
• After heading through three roundabouts turn onto Viale Stucchi, and you should see the stadium on your left.

From Venice:

• Travelling via the A4, exit onto the raccordo Monza Tangenziale Nord, keep to the right, and use the Monza – S. Alessandro exit.
• From there, repeat the above – stay left onto Viale delle Industrie, go through the three roundabouts, turn onto Viale Stucchi, and find the stadium to your left.

From Linate Airport:

• Join the Tangenziale Est at Linate/Viale Forlanini, and keep to the right past Viale Palmanova.
• Head north, join the raccordo Tangenziale Nord, and after around eight kilometres, take the Monza – S. Alessandro exit.
• As above, keep left onto Viale delle Industrie, go through the three roundabouts, turn onto Viale Stucchi, and find the stadium to your left.

By train

Monza FS station is well-serviced by trains from Milano Centrale and Milano Porta Garibaldi.

Perhaps the simplest way to get into Monza from Milan via train is by taking a Trenord suburban service, with the S7, S8 and S11 lines from Milano Porta Garibaldi both taking around 15 minutes to reach the city.

From Milano Centrale, the RE8 and R18 regional will take you to Monza.

By bus

The Z206 and Z314 buses that normally service the area around the stadium are diverted to bypass the Viale Sicilia and Via Usuelli stops on matchdays (excluding Sundays and public holidays).

Monza offer a variety of experiences for fans that want to make their matchday extra special.

For example, their Stadium Tour + Meet & Greet package takes supporters through a guided tour of the conference room, dressing room and mixed zone, as well as through the tunnel, pitchside and to the team bus arrival.

Stadio Brianteo has few points of interest in the immediate vicinity given its location in a residential area, but a short journey through Monza is certainly worth your while. Some spots to visit include:

Autodromo Nazionale di Monza:

The iconic Formula 1 circuit lies around 4.5km north of the stadium, and is accessible eon foot via the Parco di Monza. Guided tours and driving experiences are available, and could make for a unique sporting memory alongside your matchday.

Parco di Monza:

The Parco di Monza referenced above is one of the largest walled parks anywhere in Europe, and boasts an F1 circuit and golf course amidst its 688 acres of woodland and meadows. Importantly, the park opens at 7am and is free to enter.

Museo e Tesoro del Duomo di Monza

Another attraction worth visiting is the Museo e Tesoro del Duomo di Monza, the museum adjacent to the Duomo cathedral. The cathedral itself is also of note, given that it houses the medieval Iron Crown of Lombardy.

Michael Jackson famously graced Stadio Brianteo with his presence for two shows on July 6 and 7 1992, as part of his Dangerous World Tour.

Elton John also held a concert at the stadium just three days later, bringing his The One Tour to the Brianteo on July 10, 1992.

Monza’s main rivals are Como, and their Lombardy derby has earned a reputation over the years as the ‘hottest derby in Serie B’.

Thanks to I Biancorossi’s promotion, both clubs are in Serie A for 2026-27, and fans will be treated to a pair of tense clashes in the top flight this year.

The rivalry was borne from a number of decisive showdowns between the clubs in promotion races. Monza beat Como 1-0 in June 1967’s playoff, before Como repaid the favour by scoring a last-minute penalty to draw 3-3 with Monza in April 1980, denying I Biancorossi promotion to Serie A.

The club also have an inter-city rivalry with Pro Sesto, who are situated in Sesto San Giovanni, as well as a more modern distaste for Pisa.

Monza clashed with Pisa in the 2007 Serie C playoff final, and after I Biancorossi were defeated in extra time, both sets of fans attacked each other. The sides also faced off in 2022’s Serie B playoff final, which Monza won in extra time to reach Serie A for the first time.
