Aston Villa supporters noticed a small but eye-catching addition inside Villa Park during the win over Sunderland.

And it is already proving a hit with fans.

Holte End concourse feature has Aston Villa fans talking

A new mural has appeared inside the Holte End concourse at Villa Park.

The artwork shows a cartoon-style pelican wearing an Aston Villa scarf, balancing two pints of beer on its beak while standing on a football.

Beneath it are the words: “Lovely day to be a Villan”.

The design appears to be another subtle nod to the famous “Villa Villan” character that Aston Villa supporters have often featured on tifos and banners in recent years.

Fans quickly praised the new addition on social media after spotting it during Villa’s game against Sunderland.

Several supporters claimed they loved the look of the design, while another fan labelled it “quality.”

The mural is one of several changes Villa have made around the stadium in recent seasons as they continue to improve the matchday experience at the Holte End and across Villa Park.

FGG says: Exactly the kind of small touch Aston Villa fans will appreciate

Not every stadium improvement has to be a huge redevelopment or expensive new screen.

Sometimes it is the little touches that make a ground feel more unique and give supporters something to smile about on matchday.

This mural does exactly that.

It adds a bit of personality to the Holte End concourse, ties into Villa’s supporter culture and is already clearly popular with fans.
