Charlton Athletic are set to make major improvements to The Valley on completion of the 2025-26 season.

As reported on charltonafc.com, the historic ground will undergo further enhancements as the club hierarchy continue to commit to progressing off the pitch.

Charlton Athletic announce summer upgrades at The Valley

As revealed in a statement on the club website, Charlton Athletic have committed to further enhancements to take place at The Valley over the summer.

Improvements are currently focussed on the installation of new and improved dugouts as well as changes to seating areas in the stadium's West Stand.

Chief Financial and Operations Officer Ed Warrick said: “Like the floodlights installed this season, we now need to install new dugouts to meet EFL regulations.”

“We're also looking to update our hospitality offering, which includes organising the seating areas more appropriately in the West Stand, and these two projects will form a key part of our summer work. We're also planning some further updates, which we'll update supporters on when we have more detail.”

“Due to the nature of these developments, we will need to move a small number of current season-ticket holders in the West Stand. We’ve contacted those supporters directly and will work closely with them to relocate them to seats that best suit their needs.

“These upgrades once again reflect our commitment to driving elite standards at the club and enhancing the matchday experience for our supporters.”

Ongoing renovation projects continue at The Valley

The latest developments outlined by the club involving works in summer 2026 are the latest in ongoing improvements made to The Valley, having secured their future at the ground last year.

Indeed, in October 2025, the Championship side announced a agreement had been reached to extend their lease tenure both at their home ground and their Sparrows Lane training facility through to June 2040.

Warrick added: “The Valley is a wonderful stadium, and it hadn’t received the investment it deserved until recent seasons.”

“Over the past few summers, with the backing of the club’s ownership, we’ve been able to make significant improvements – a new pitch, safe standing areas, refreshed club offices and tunnel areas, new floodlight upgrades, new maintenance and groundskeeping equipment, perimeter advertising boards, the new big screen and the installation of handrails in the Alan Curbishley Stand.”

FGG says: Necessary but positive steps for Charlton

Having secured at least their mid-term future at their historic home at The Valley, Charlton Athletic fans can be excited about ongoing enhancements.

While some of these are enforced by league rules, the Addicks are making clear off-pitch strides to improve fan experience at The Valley, alongside on-pitch growth having returned to the Championship and putting themselves in a strong position to stay in England's second tier in the 2025-26 season.
