Ipswich Town are making the most of the off-season as work continues around Portman Road ahead of the new campaign.

Fresh footage has provided a look at the latest changes around the stadium, with the club continuing to invest in facilities and the wider matchday experience.

Ipswich Town getting on with things during the off-season

The latest footage from around Portman Road shows work continuing as Ipswich push ahead with another programme of stadium improvements.

The activity comes alongside plans to significantly expand the concourse beneath the West Stand, with Town having applied for planning permission for a project designed to improve facilities, access and connections with the Fanzone.

Under the proposals, the ground-level concourse would be extended into the area behind the stand, increasing its floor space from 864 square metres to 1,759 square metres. Existing kiosks would also be relocated and upgraded as part of the project.

The plans include removing the existing portacabins and demolishing several outbuildings to create space for the expanded facilities. Office, archive and medical areas to the south of the West Stand would also be relocated.

Changes are also planned for the Fanzone, which would be refurbished alongside the installation of new boundaries, a new gate on the stadium's northern boundary and a digital display board.

The latest footage provides supporters with another glimpse of the work taking place during the summer, with Portman Road continuing to evolve following significant investment in the stadium over recent seasons.

FGG says: Portman Road improvements continue Ipswich Town's off-field progress

Ipswich have made significant strides on and off the pitch in recent years, and the continued investment in Portman Road is another positive sign of the club's ambitions.

The proposed West Stand concourse expansion may not be as eye-catching as a major new stand, but almost doubling the available floor space and improving kiosks, access and the Fanzone could make a noticeable difference to supporters on matchdays.

The off-season is the ideal time to get these projects moving, and Town are clearly not standing still.
