Aston Villa's North Stand redevelopment has reached another major milestone, with fresh footage capturing one of the biggest changes to the project so far.

The latest update shows the historic stand looking dramatically different as demolition work continues at pace.

North Stand roof is completely gone at Villa Park

New drone footage from Villa Park has revealed a ‘significant moment' in Aston Villa's North Stand redevelopment, with almost the entire roof now removed.

The latest update shows contractors using a large crane to lift one of the remaining steel roof trusses from the structure after workers carefully cut it free while suspended high above the site.

With the section safely lowered into the construction area, only the pitch-side edge of the old roof now remains, opening up clear views across the redevelopment and highlighting just how much the stadium has changed in recent weeks.

The aerial footage also provides a comprehensive look across the construction site, showcasing the ongoing demolition works and the scale of the transformation taking place behind the scenes.

The North Stand is closed throughout the 2026/27 season as Villa accelerate the redevelopment, with capacity temporarily reduced to around 37,000 before increasing to more than 50,000 ahead of the 2027/28 campaign and UEFA Euro 2028.

Once complete, the new stand will include expanded seating alongside upgraded hospitality, media and supporter facilities as part of the biggest overhaul of Villa Park in more than two decades.

FGG says: A landmark moment for Villa's North Stand

With the roof now virtually gone, there's no hiding the scale of the transformation underway at Villa Park.

It is one of the clearest visual milestones yet and brings Aston Villa another step closer to delivering a modern new North Stand.

With Euro 2028 ultimately the end goal, the pace of progress continues to impress, and with each update, the finished stadium becomes easier for supporters to imagine.
