Vitality Stadium update as new footage highlights fresh doubts over one area being ready for new season

AFC Bournemouth's stadium redevelopment continues to gather pace, with fresh drone footage revealing another busy week of construction.

While significant progress has been made across the site, questions remain over whether every element will be ready for the start of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

The latest construction update from the Vitality Stadium shows steady progress across several key areas of Bournemouth's redevelopment project, although one aspect of the build remains against the clock.

Foundation work continues to advance in the south-east corner, where new pile caps and ground beam formwork are now clearly visible.

Elsewhere, work in the north-west corner is focused on installing high-voltage cable trenches and a new substation, with this section of the project still at an earlier stage.

A new modular administrative building has now been installed in the west car park, while cladding is being fitted to the new turnstile canopies as work progresses on the stadium's upgraded entrance facilities.

The completed development will feature 44 turnstiles.

The Main Stand is also taking shape, with new external cladding being installed and roof work around the balcony areas nearing completion.

Away from the stands, the new pitch membrane is performing well, with healthy grass growth visible ahead of the new campaign, while pedestrian access has been temporarily diverted around the east side of the ground to accommodate the ongoing works.

Despite the encouraging progress, the latest footage raises fresh doubts over whether the corner infill sections will be completed in time for the Cherries' Premier League opener against Everton at the end of August, with steelwork yet to be erected.

There's no doubting the amount of work being completed each week, but the corner infills remain the biggest question mark.

Until the steel starts going up, supporters are likely to remain cautious about the opening-day timetable.

With more than a month still to go before Bournemouth return home, there's time for further progress, but the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining exactly what supporters see when the new season kicks off.
