World Cup 2030: Early travel and ticket advice for Morocco, Portugal, Spain

The 2026 World Cup is now over, with Spain crowned champions after they beat Argentina 1-0 in the final thanks to a goal in extra time from Ferran Torres.

The next edition of the tournament will take place in 2030 and is being co-hosted by Morocco, Portugal and Spain, while some of the opening games will be held in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup which took place in 1930.

The 2026 tournament broke plenty of records, with more than 6.8 million fans attending the 104 matches, and supporters keen on attending the next World Cup are encouraged to start planning well in advance.

With that in mind, Football Ground Guide provides early travel and ticket advice for the 2030 World Cup.

World Cup 2030 travel advice

Qualification for the tournament has not yet begun, but Morocco, Portugal and Spain have already qualified as co-hosts alongside centenary match co-hosts Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has hinted that the World Cup could be expanded to 64 teams, but that is yet to be confirmed.

Once the draw has been made and the match schedule has been released, fans will be able to start making travel plans as they will know where their nation will be playing the majority of their games.

Fans are encouraged to book as early as possible to get the lowest prices for plane tickets, hotels and other means of travel but it is worth noting that almost everything will be more expensive than usual, so budget accordingly.

The three main host nations are close together, which will help with travel, and 20 stadiums in 17 cities across Morocco, Portugal and Spain are currently scheduled to host matches.

It is currently unknown which stadium will stage the final, although Real Madrid's Bernabeu and the brand new Stade Hassan II which is currently being built in Morocco are considered the frontrunners.

For fans who want to experience the centenary matches as well as the rest of the tournament, those games are currently scheduled to take place on June 8 and 9 before the other opening games begin on June 13.

It has already been confirmed that the centenary matches will take place at Uruguay's Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Argentina's Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires and Paraguay's Estadio Osvaldo Dominguez Dibb in Asuncion.

World Cup 2030 ticket advice

Fans can already register their interest in tickets for the tournament here, which will allow FIFA to send you the latest news and information about the 2030 World Cup.

The initial ticket sale window has yet to be announced, but the first draw application window for the 2026 World Cup opened on September 10, 2025 which means it is unlikely tickets will go on sale until around a year before the 2030 World Cup is due to start.

There is expected to be several ticket sales phases, much like there was for the 2026 tournament, and fans are encouraged to map out their nation's expected path to ensure they get tickets to the knockout matches they are most likely to feature in.

However, upsets do happen and things are rarely straightforward at a World Cup, so you will be able to buy and sell tickets once knockout matches are confirmed on FIFA's official resale platform.
