Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground redevelopment project reaches new major milestone

Wrexham have confirmed that the redevelopment project at the Racecourse Ground has reached another major milestone.

The club have been working on redeveloping the Kop Stand since 2025, and the project has now completed a major step in one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Wrexham's history.

Wrexham have announced that the main structural steelwork involved in the Kop Stand redevelopment has been put in place at the Racecourse Ground, marking a major step towards completing the project.

Work has steadily been progressing throughout the summer, with the steel structure visibly rising behind the goal, and the latest confirmation from the club follows the successful fitting of the large roof trusses, including the final section of the roof framework.

The new steelwork has already changed the look of the Racecourse Ground, giving supporters a clearer idea of what their stadium will look like heading forward.

Following the completion of this stage, the project can now shift focus to finishing the roof, terracing, the internal areas and the multiple facilities that will serve supporters, players, staff and officials.

Once the redevelopment project is finished, it will return the Racecourse Ground to being a four-sided stadium after the old terrace was closed and demolished.

The Kop Stand is set to have a capacity of around 7,500 spectators, bringing the total capacity of the stadium to over 18,000, while it will include areas for safe-standing, traditional seating, accessible viewing, better hospitality facilities and upgraded spaces for players, officials, media representatives and stadium operations.
