When Arne Slot became Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024, many people felt that he had an impossible job following in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp.
The German was one of Liverpool's greatest-ever managers, ending their 30-year wait for a league title in 2020 after winning the Champions League a year earlier.
However, to Slot's credit, he had a stunning first season in charge at Anfield and led the Reds to their record-equalling 20th league title.
Liverpool fans are renowned for getting behind their managers, so it's no surprise that Slot has had his own Liverpool chant right from his first game in charge. For all the key information on this football chant, including the lyrics and tune, keep reading.
Arne Slot chant, lyrics and tune
The Arne Slot chant is sung to the tune of ‘Live is Life' by Opus. The lyrics only take inspiration from the chorus and are as follows:
Arne Slot,
La, la, la, la, la
Arne Slot,
La, la, la, la, la
Arne Slot chant background
The Arne Slot was always destined to be a hit at Anfield after former manager Jurgen Klopp took to the microphone on his final day in charge of the club to sing it to the crowd. After cottoning on to what was happening, the Anfield crowd joined in with Klopp and the song was locked in.
The reason why Klopp used this tune is quite sentimental, too. Although the German ended up with a few more elaborate chants by the end of his time at Liverpool, his first Liverpool chant was also to this tune.
A similar pattern could follow for Slot, should he enjoy the same successes as Klopp. In fact, there have been murmurings of a Slot chant that references Liverpool's 20th league title, but it has yet to properly take off in the Kop.

FGG says: Not Liverpool's best
It's difficult to blame Liverpool fans for this chant as it was created by their former manager, and when you have god-like status as Klopp does in Liverpool, you do as you're told. However, I fully expect a new and improved Slot chant to soon sweep across Anfield and Liverpool away ends, particularly if he can lead the club to more glory on the pitch.
