Barcelona could make unpopular Camp Nou ticket decision once redevelopment is complete

Barcelona could review and increase season-ticket prices once the redevelopment of Spotify Camp Nou is fully completed, with club institutional vice-president Elena Fort admitting that the pricing structure will have to be reassessed.

Fort confirmed that Barcelona have not yet made a decision on future prices, but acknowledged that the finished stadium will be different enough to require the club to examine its existing policy.

“Always we have said that when we have the stadium finished we have to analyse it because there are changes,” Fort said in an interview with Beteve.

“The works themselves involve changes. The entire stadium will be covered.”

Her comments leave open the possibility of season-ticket holders paying more once the redevelopment is complete, although Barcelona have not announced any new prices or confirmed that an increase will happen.

Barcelona will reassess season-ticket prices after Camp Nou rebuild

The issue is particularly significant because the club have repeatedly stressed that members should not be asked to directly fund the Espai Barca redevelopment through additional payments.

Fort reiterated that position, saying Barcelona's intention had been to ensure members did not have to “dig into their pockets” to finance the project.

For now, the club continues to operate a temporary Season Pass system while capacity at Camp Nou remains restricted.

Barcelona's 2026-27 arrangement gives priority to members who held a pass during the previous campaign, with access covering La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League matches played at the stadium.

Barcelona also previously made approximately 14,000 additional seats available to members during the progressive reopening of the stadium, with season-ticket prices for that phase ranging from €160 to €264 depending on location and the number of matches remaining.

The eventual pricing structure is expected to look different once all areas of the stadium are operational.

Camp Nou third tier delayed as Barcelona prioritise VIP areas

Fort's comments came alongside an update on the final stages of the Camp Nou redevelopment.

The third tier has been structurally completed, but Barcelona now intend to wait until the stadium roof is finished before opening the section to supporters. That means the third tier is not expected to become operational until the 2027-28 season.

Barcelona are instead prioritising the completion of the VIP rings, which Fort described as important to the financing of the project.

The club's commercial strategy has already placed considerable emphasis on premium hospitality as it looks to generate additional revenue from the redeveloped stadium.

The timing of the season-ticket debate is therefore significant. Barcelona will eventually have a much larger and fully covered stadium, but the finished product will also contain different categories of seating and premium facilities compared with the current temporary setup.

The club will therefore have to determine whether its existing season-ticket prices still accurately reflect the new Camp Nou experience.

FGG Says: Camp Nou pricing could become a sensitive issue

Barcelona's decision to revisit season-ticket prices is understandable given the scale of the redevelopment, but it could also become a sensitive issue among members who have supported the club through years of construction work.

The club has so far maintained a clear distinction between financing the redevelopment and asking members to pay additional contributions. Fort's comments suggest that any future price changes would instead be considered as part of the normal review of the completed stadium.

That distinction could matter when Barcelona eventually announce the new structure.

For now, there is no confirmed price increase. The immediate priority remains completing the roof, VIP areas and remaining construction work before Camp Nou finally returns to full operation.
