Bournemouth face Vitality Stadium doubts for Everton clash with builders working ‘around the clock’

AFC Bournemouth are working against the clock to have the revamped Vitality Stadium ready for Everton’s visit this weekend.

The Cherries have confirmed the venue will host the game, but significant work remains with just days to go.

According to The Sun, builders are reportedly working ‘around the clock' as Bournemouth race to complete the latest phase of their stadium redevelopment.

New images show heavy lifting machinery still operating around the ground, with just five days remaining before Everton arrive on the south coast.

The floodlights in two corners behind the goal have been moved to make way for new sections, while the north-west and east corners are set to eventually provide an additional 800 seats.

Those areas will not be ready for the Everton fixture and are now expected to open later in the season.

There is also still significant work to complete around the stadium, with rubble, metalwork and concrete fittings visible around the main car park and surrounding walkways which will need to be cleared to meet safety requirements.

The Cherries have undertaken extensive work during the summer after qualifying for the Europa League for the first time, including improvements to media facilities and hospitality areas, as well as the installation of a new pitch.

The club opted to expand the existing stadium rather than move away from its historic home, with capacity eventually rising from around 11,300 to 20,200 by summer 2027.

There is clearly still plenty to do, but Bournemouth have said the stadium will be ready to host Everton.

With the incomplete corners already excluded from Saturday's capacity, the priority now will be making sure the remaining work does not affect safety or the matchday experience.
